In 2016, 52% of U.K. citizens voted to withdraw from the European Union. A once in a lifetime chance to free ourselves from the rusty shackles of the European institution. An institution which strives to destroy our democracy, our control and our way of life. I am glad Great Britain and Northern Ireland voted to leave this “Union” which is rotting from the inside out.
Since ‘Brexit’ we have seen the true colours of the European Union leaders, namely Jean-Claude Juncker, Angela Merkel and Guy Verhofstadt. Mr Juncker and Mr Verhofstadt have persistently demanded that the United Kingdom pay a ‘divorce bill’ upon leaving, which they estimate to be around £84billion. These great European project advocates seem to have forgotten that there is no legally binding ‘divorce bill’ attached to Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. This threat posed by the European Commission is one of many examples of how this European project wishes the U.K. to suffer following the ‘Brexit’ vote.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has revealed her true bitterness towards the U.K. and U.S.A., two key allies by recently suggesting that our partnership is now unreliable following the election of President Trump as well as the ‘Brexit’ vote. Mrs Merkel along with her blue-eyed boy Emmanuel Macron has sacrificed her reputation, her country and her people all in the name of the European project.
The behaviour of the European Union representatives in the face of ‘Brexit’ demonstrates why more countries are now having the important debate about leaving this failing project.
